WKN Windcurrent, a subsidiary of the PNE Group, is very fortunate to be in a position to be able to make financial donation to Cycling2Educate, a most worthy initiative championed by EduVelo NPC (www.EduVelo.org) which allows cyclists to raise funds for bursaries in education in South Africa. Provision of quality education to as many young South Africans as possible is a vital cornerstone to the future success of our country. The determined efforts of the fundraisers cycling to Komani in the Eastern Cape all the way from Cape Town and elsewhere in April are admired and we wish them all the best.
WKN Windcurrent has a number of large scale renewable energy sites under various stages of development located in the Western and Eastern Cape, as well as in many of the other provinces. Similar to the provision of basic education, the urgent country-wide roll out of wind and solar power, which is not only climate friendly but also more reliable and affordable than other forms of energy, should continue to be prioritised.
