WKN wind farm Westerengel handed over to the investor on schedule

The Husum-based project developer WKN AG has commissioned the wind energy project Westerengel, located in Thuringia, Eastern Germany on time. The Westerengel wind farm has already been handed over to the investor.

The Westerengel wind farm has now been transferred turn-key to the Hamburg-based investment company CEE. CEE belongs to Lampe Equity Management (LEM)-Group, a subsidiary of Bankhaus Lampe. The project consists of seven Vestas V 112 wind energy turbines each with an installed capacity of 3.3 megawatts and a hub height of 140 metres.

The expected annual power production of the 23.1 megawatts farm amounts to more than 50 million kilowatt hours. Thus, the wind farm developed by WKN will now provide sufficient environmentally friendly energy to cover the needs of 15,000 households in Thuringia.

Roland Stanze, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of WKN AG: „By realising the Westerengel wind farm, WKN again proves its high level of competence with regard to well-structured and high-quality project development. Considering today’s turbine sizes, Westerengel has been completed on an impressive timescale after the approval had been granted  by paying careful attention to a variety of environmental and residential demands. This has also been realised thanks to the efficient cooperation with the turbine manufacturer Vestas.”
